How do I check a used camera sensor?

The site doesn't have a full guide to checking a used sensor yet. The one sensor warning I've written is for the Leica M9. Its CCD sensor can corrode, so ask the seller whether it has already been replaced before you buy. The Leica M9 page has the details.
