Can I adapt the canon ef 400mm f 5 6l usm to sony e?

I haven't tested or covered this combination, so I can't tell you whether it works on Sony E. The Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM page lists only Canon bodies, and I don't have adapter details for autofocus lenses on Sony.

The adapters section on the lenses page says mirrorless mounts are shallow, so old manual-focus film lenses adapt easily and cheaply. That's a different case from this autofocus Canon lens, so don't assume the autofocus will work just because the adapter fits.

If you want reach on Sony E, check the wildlife and sport guide, which covers zooms in the 100-400mm class and longer.
