Best wide angle lens for the sony a7r?

For the Sony a7R, a full frame body, lenses frame exactly as marked, so you can choose purely by focal length. Three wide options from the catalogue:

• Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM II is the one I'd pick if you want a single zoom for landscapes, architecture and tighter street shots.
• Sony FE 14mm f/1.8 GM gives a properly ultra-wide view with a fast aperture for dim interiors.
• Sony FE 20mm f/1.8 G is a gentler wide that's easier to carry all day.

A wider aperture lets in more light and gives you more background blur, which is worth knowing when you compare them. The Lenses guide explains the f-number in more detail. Start with the focal length you like the look of, then choose the aperture to suit your light.
