Best travel lens for the pentax k r?

For the K-r, my pick for a single travel lens is the Pentax HD DA 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6 ED DC WR. It frames like 24-128mm on full frame, which covers most travel shots, and the WR in its name means it's weather sealed for rainy or dusty days.

If you'd rather have a narrower range, the [Pentax smc DA 17-70mm f/4 AL [IF] SDM](/gear/lenses/pentax-smc-da-17-70mm-f-4-al-if-sdm/) covers roughly 26-105mm.

For evenings and food, I'd add the Pentax HD DA 21mm f/3.2 AL Limited, a small prime that frames like 32mm. One zoom plus one prime is the kit I'd suggest, as the travel guide explains.
