Best travel lens for the pentax k 500?

For the Pentax K-500, I'd start with the Pentax HD DA 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6 ED DC WR. It covers about 24-128mm in full-frame terms, which takes in most travel shots from wide streets to close portraits, and it's weather sealed, a useful bonus on the road.

If you want more reach for markets or details, the [Pentax smc DA 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 ED AL [IF] DC WR](/gear/lenses/pentax-smc-da-18-135mm-f-3-5-5-6-ed-al-if-dc-wr/) stretches to about 27-202mm and is also weather sealed.

The travel guide suggests one zoom plus one small fast prime for evenings and food. For that, the Pentax HD DA 21mm f/3.2 AL Limited is compact and gives a natural 32mm view. Check the what matters list before you buy.
