Best telephoto lens for the canon eos 6d?

For most people on a 6D, I'd start with the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM. It's the all-rounder, good for sport, portraits and events, and it's a fast f/2.8 lens. The camera has no stabilisation in the body, so an IS lens like this one helps at slower shutter speeds.

If you need more reach for distant wildlife, look at the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM. For a longer fixed prime, the Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM is a good choice. Both are on the 6D's list, and the wildlife and sport guide covers how to choose between them. If you want a lot of reach on a budget, the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports is worth a look.
