You asked
Best superzoom compact camera?
I don't have a dedicated guide to superzoom compacts, so I can't crown one. My closest answer is the 1-inch compact with a 24-200mm-equivalent zoom. It fits in a jacket pocket, and the pictures beat a phone's once you zoom in. On my travel picks page I point to that type, and on your first camera I name the long-running Sony RX100 series as the smallest step up from a phone.
If you're open to a body with interchangeable lenses, these superzooms are worth a look:
- Olympus M.Zuiko 12-200mm f/3.5-6.3, a weather-sealed superzoom for Micro Four Thirds.
- Nikon AF-S 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR, a full-frame travel superzoom.
