Best portrait lens for the fujifilm x t5?
For portraits on the X-T5, I'd aim for something around 50 to 85mm in full-frame terms. On this APS-C body that means roughly 33 to 57mm, and these are my picks from the list:
- Fujifilm XF 33mm f/1.4 R LM WR is the one I'd grab first. It works out to about 50mm full frame, which is a classic portrait view, and it's a fast prime.
- Fujifilm XF 35mm f/1.4 R is a little wider, about 52mm equivalent, so it suits environmental portraits where you want more of the scene.
- Fujifilm XF 50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR is the zoom option. It gives you the longer, more flattering 75 to 210mm full-frame view and a constant f/2.8.
Whichever you choose, the lens is only part of it. Read Portraits before you spend money, because light beats gear every time.
