Best pocket camera under 1000?

The site doesn't cover prices, so I can't tell you what fits under 1000. What I can point to is the Canon PowerShot V10, a pocket vlogging compact with a 1-inch sensor and a fixed ultra-wide lens, announced in 2023. Check its current price yourself before you assume it's in budget.

Before you spend anything, read Your first camera. A good phone is already a very good camera in daylight, so the question is what a dedicated camera would give you that your phone doesn't.

Then run through How to choose, in three questions. The best pocket camera is the one you actually carry, so pick it for what you'll photograph and how much you'll want in your bag.
