Best budget lens for the nikon d5300?
For a budget lens on the D5300, I'd start with the Nikon AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8G. It's the cheap fast prime my first-camera guide recommends for people and low light, and on this body it frames like a 52mm on full frame.
For an everyday zoom, the Nikon AF-P DX 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR covers the common range and has stabilisation, which the D5300 body lacks.
If you want reach for wildlife or sport, the Nikon AF-P DX 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED VR is the one I'd look at.
I don't list prices on this site, so check current prices before you buy. For how to split your money between body and lenses, see Your first camera.
